Last weekend the IPS Rankings 5-8 were played in the P\u00edluf\u00e9lag Reykjanesb\u00e6jar. Ingibj\u00f6rg Magn\u00fasd\u00f3ttir won all the women tournaments, while Bj\u00f6rn Steinar Brynj\u00f3lfsson, Matth\u00edas \u00d6rn Fri\u00f0riksson and Hallgrimur Egilsson were succesfull in the men tournaments. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

IPS Ranking 5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first ranking of the weekend started with 15 players. Bj\u00f6rn Steinar Brynj\u00f3lfsson and Karl Helgi J\u00f3nsson reached the final of IPS Ranking. Brynj\u00f3lfsson defeated Hallgrimur Egilsson (5-3), Gardar Magnusson (5-1) and Alex M\u00e1ni P\u00e9tursson (5-1) on his way to the final! J\u00f3nsson was too strong for Sigurgeir Gu\u00f0mundsson (5-3), P\u00e9tur Gu\u00f0mundsson (5-4) and Matth\u00edas \u00d6rn Fri\u00f0riksson (5-3).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the final, it was Brynj\u00f3lfsson who started very well with winning the first two legs. J\u00f3nsson came back with two legs in a row on his own for 2-2. The next three legs were breaks for a 4-3 lead for Brynj\u00f3lfsson. Leg 8 went with the darts and so Brynj\u00f3lfsson won his first-ever IPS Ranking! Ingibj\u00f6rg Magn\u00fasd\u00f3ttir started very well, she won the women tournament with a 5-0 win over Maria J\u00f3hannesd\u00f3ttir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IPS Ranking 6<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sixth IPS Ranking were played later on the Saturday with again 15 players. Matth\u00edas \u00d6rn Fri\u00f0riksson and P\u00e9tur Gu\u00f0mundsson reached in the final. Fri\u00f0riksson did it with wins over Vi\u00f0ar Valdimarsson (5-0) and Bj\u00f6rn Brynj\u00f3lfsson (5-1). Gu\u00f0mundsson saw off Alexander \u00deorvaldsson (5-2), Vitor Charrua (5-1) and Sigurgeir Gu\u00f0mundsson (5-4).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fri\u00f0riksson started as the better player, he won the first two legs of the final. The next 4 legs went with the darts for a 4-2 lead for ‘The Eagle’. In leg 7 Fri\u00f0riksson hit three scores of 100 and hit double 15 for a 5-2 win and his fourth ranking title of the season! The women final was the same as the tournament before, this time Ingibj\u00f6rg Magn\u00fasd\u00f3ttir won 5-3 against J\u00f3hannesd\u00f3ttir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IPS Ranking 7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sunday started with 12 players at IPS Ranking 7. Hallgrimur Egilsson and P\u00e9tur Gu\u00f0mundsson reached the final. Egilsson reached his first final of the year with wins over Alex M\u00e1ni P\u00e9tursson (5-1), \u00der\u00f6stur Ingimarsson (5-0) and Sigurgeir Gu\u00f0mundsson (5-1). Gu\u00f0mundsson reached his second final of the week, this time he was too strong for Alexander \u00deorvaldsson (5-4), Karl Helgi J\u00f3nsson (5-2) and \u00deorgeir Gu\u00f0mundsson (5-4).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the final, the first 3 legs went with the darts. In the fourth leg, Egilsson produced a 180 and hitting double 5 for the break; 3-1. Egilsson held his own leg in 24 darts for 4-1. In the sixth leg Gu\u00f0mundsson missed 5 darts at the double, Egilsson managed to find double 16 with his last dart for a 5-1 victory and the title! Ingibj\u00f6rg Magn\u00fasd\u00f3ttir won the women’s tournament with a 5-0 over Dilj\u00e1 Tara Helgad\u00f3ttir in the final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IPS Ranking 8<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last ranking of the weekend was started with 12 players. Again it was Hallgrimur Egilsson who reached the final, he was too strong for Vi\u00f0ar Valdimarsson (5-1), \u00der\u00f6stur Ingimarsson (5-0) and Vitor Charrua (5-4). Matth\u00edas \u00d6rn Fri\u00f0riksson was the other finalist, also his second final of the week. Sigur\u00f0ur A\u00f0alsteinsson (5-1) and P\u00e9tur Gu\u00f0mundsson (5-3) were beaten on the way to the final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first leg of the final Fri\u00f0riksson hit a 180, but with a 73-checkout Egilsson held his own leg. With double 10 Egilsson broke the throw of his compatriot. With a 75-checkout Egilsson managed to win three legs in a row for a 3-0 lead. The next 4 legs went with the darts, so Egilsson does the double with a 5-2 win in the final! Ingibj\u00f6rg Magn\u00fasd\u00f3ttir won her fourth title of the weekend, she defeated Dilj\u00e1 Tara Helgad\u00f3ttir 5-3 in the final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
